A year ago, I contacted Marks Upholstery Cleaning and asked for someone to come out and steam-clean our sofa. I was unpleasantly surprised by some additional costs, and the manager to whom I spoke was utterly unrepentant.

This time around, I’ve gotten the quote in writing, and confirmed it:

AUD240.00 for a four-seat sofa, measurements and photos supplied, including Scotchguard and any necessary stain removal. “No, there will be no extra charge.”

Let’s see how that pans out in a fortnight’s time …
